As good as ever

We had a great break although it be a small one. A shame the weather couldn't have held out for one more day. The site is still the best and always will be. Keep up the good work and we we see you in 2009, hopefully in the sun...

Great albeit wet 2 weeks

After arriving home.We just had to email your Guest Book, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everybody at Alpine Grove for the most friendliest holiday ever! Richard & Helen always had time to chat ( mostly about the weather, as it was raining constantly for 2 weeks!) They helped out with an extra ground sheet for our tent, plus Richard helped not only push my Transit twin cab, but also jump start it one morning! Thanks Richard. The site was fantastic, Kids loved the play area & the swimming pool was heated to bath water temperature Heavenly. Toilets probably the cleanest we have seen in nearly 15 years of camping. We will definately be visiting again, and would highly recommend this site to campers & caravanners alike. Keep up the good work guys, It was a fab time, Kids say Hi to Freddie & Murphy x

Fab Site

We had a fabulous stay at your site. Richard & Helen are very helpful and friendly. The kids loved the swimming pool, park and trampoline. The woods is great for the dogs to be walked in. The toilet block is clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. We will recommend this site to anybody. The dog sitting services is a fantastic idea, we went to Longleat and left our puupy there in safe hands and was walked several times by Richard and Helen's children. We will definately return to the site.

My number one campsite

Richard & Helen, just arrived home and felt compelled to drop you a line to thank you for such a great week at Alpine Grove, despite the terrible weather at the beginning of our stay! My family group of 6 adults and 8 children wish to extend our compliments to you for all that you do at Alpine Grove. You have a great management style and are such hospitable hosts. Nothing was to much bother. I have been camping since I was knee heigh to a grasshopper (knocking on 40 years of camping!) and have to say that Alpine Grove is probably the best campsite I have ever stayed at, taking into account the management of the site, the friendly atmosphere that you and your family (including the dogs!) generate, its cleanliness, constant availability of hot water, the heated swimming pool, play areas of the children, and, not least, the location of the site which apart from being set in an area of outstanding natural beauty is also so convenient for visits to Lyme Regis, Wookey Hole, Fleet Air Arm Museum, and some great local hostelries (thanks for the recommenation of The Squirrel Inn where we had a great last evening). All I can say is keep up the good work and, look forward to returning to Alpine Grove in the future. regards,

Wonderful holiday

This is a fantastic site. The secluded pitch gave us peace, quiet and privacy despite the site being full. We have no hesitation in recommending Alpine Grove to anyone looking for a peaceful and civilised retreat. We will be back!

virgin campers

Our first camping trip as a family and we couldn't have picked a better campsite to ensure we try a few more nights under canvas in the future. Everything we needed on site, extremely helpful and welcoming staff, idilic surroundings. The campsite was almost full during our visit but thanks to the clever way many of the pitches are tucked away in corners of the woodland, it didn't feel overcrowded. Excellent campsite

Dear Richard and Helen, I just wanted to thank you for our stay as we had to rush off without acknowledging anyone! Your site is excellent. When we arrived you showed us to a secluded area, right within the tall trees round by the chalets. It was an ideal location for us. All the kids were too scared to venture through the undergrowth to bother us!! I notice you had a nature watch on your notice board....and I'm sure everyone tells you but we thought we heard plenty of foxes and an owl or two during the night. It was nice to hear. Thanks for the friendly and attentive welcome (it definitely makes a difference!). Keep up the good work. Tim Williams

GREAT SPRING BREAK

We are very fussy about the camp sites we visit and were more than pleased with Alpine Grove. It is well set out in beautiful surroundings. The site is easily found and well maintained with smart, clean toilets and showers, with no stupid 20p coin slots. We will certainly be visiting Alpine Grove again.

Brilliant !

We loved our stay so much that it was difficult to leave ! in fact we extended by one night ! When the site was full you felt like you still had your own private space, fantastic. If I had to make a complaint it was that Helen and Richard made us too welcome. I would not hestitate to recommend this site to anyone, Thank you.

Fantastic birthday weekend!

I took my son and 8 of his friends to Alpine Grove for a camping 13th birthday weekend. Everyone had a fantastic time - the pool is superb! - and the site is so well laid out and organised that even I returned refreshed! Don't hesitate - this is a great place to go camping!!

Just how camping should be

I would love to leave this site a bad review so that we could have it to ourselves the next time we visit - however I can not do that. It is absolutely amazing! The owners (Richard and Helen) can do nothing more to help you with any query or problem you may have and are always friendly, and their dogs (Freddy and Murphy) continue this friendliness. The site is very clean, water in the showers is not only free but also aways hot! The Pitches are secluded and very well spaced, and the scenery is breathtaking with lots of walks through the forest. This is how camping should be and, after staying at other campsites owners should come here for lessons! Thank you Richard, Helen and Co for making our holiday truly amazing and memorable for all the right reasons.

Great Stay April 2007

We visited Alpine Grove on the last weekend in April, I was a bit dubious as it was my first time as a camper, however it was fabulous! The site was clean and tidy and the toilet and shower facilities were always clean and looked like they were new. I would deffinately return and would reccomend the site to anyone! The owners were very friendly and helpful which really makes all the difference.

Fantastic weekend

We treated our parents to a weekend stay at the log cabin while we pitched our caravan close by. Fantastic Log cabin accomodation, Fantastic location amoungst the trees and Fantastic owners and family who made us very welcome. We would not hesitate to book up either another log cabin stay or pitch as this is a beautiful place to spend a holiday. Thanks from all in the Harben family.

BEST CAMPSITE EVER

We spent two nights (1/2 September) at Alpine Grove Campsite along with 3 other families and we were all really impressed. Even though it rained most of Saturday, the kids enjoyed the heated outdoor swimming pool, which entertained them for a couple of hours. I felt the children had lots of freedom and they happily entertained themselves, making dens and enjoying the park area of the site. The kids were muddy, happy and felt 'free' to enjoy themselves in a natural and safe environment. We were really impressed with the campsite's recycling facilities. We normally take our recycling home so it was a godsend that the site recycled. Just wished other campers made use of this excellent facility!!! No faults at all, everything was perfect well except for the rain! Thanks for a lovely break and we will be back.

What a Wondefull Stay in Early Sunny July/August..

Well what can one say.?? This site is so private and secluded you could not want anymore.. Closeby walks for the dog, 5 Mins drive into Chard for all your shopping needs inc Tesco, etc. It really is a Beautifull site that offers plenty for the whole family, including a warm swimming pool which is very clean, the ammenaties are all clean and sufficent also and showers are always hot no matter what time of day you take one.. There is plenty for the kids to do with a trampoline, swings, climbing frame/fort, basketball etc.. the caravan pitches are all spaced out equaly, and your neighbouring caravns are not to in your face.?? The site has a nice little path that runs around the perimetre fence which is nice also and the unusual 2nd world war pillar boxes are a must to see.. The mas of rodidemdrums are beautifull in the summer months to see and are very colourfull. There is also a dog sitting service which you cannot fault as it is personal to your dog and has plenty of space for them to run about in, the on site shop has all items needed for your emergency bits.. The hosts that run the site Richard and Helen are very friendly also and nothing is to much trouble what so ever for them, they will help you out as much as possible, the x2 dogs are also friendly too Freddie and Murphy. It is an ideal spot for a Tent or tourer caravan to stay there as you can travel around the South Somerset/Devonshire coats, or if you prefer not to do all that and want to chill out is also ideal.. The log cabin is also a beautifull venture that i wish Richard and Helen all the very best of luck with and we will be back to stay in one at some point.?? maybe our honeymoon who knows..?? To end you must put this site in your diary/map as you will not be dissapointed, we wasn't thats why we went back just weeks later.. 12/10..
