Best In Britain

We stayed at Tawny Owl Lodge, and luckily enough the weather was fantastic. It was all we expected and more. Comfort and homely and the great treatment from Helen and Freddy. I'd recommend it as a great British holiday, a home away from home.

A perfect week away

Thank you for a wonderful week in the Roe Deer Cabin from 19th September 2008. It is a truly lovely cabin, very homely and relaxing. The cabin is of a very high standard and well furnished and was clean and tidy. We were sad to leave and shall definately be coming back again next year. The scones and clotted cream and jam were a wonderful welcome gift, especially after a long drive down. Thank you !!

Brilliant

We stayed in Tawny Owl Lodge. What a revelation everything turned out to be. We couldn't have wished for anymore, it was a real home from home. From a disability point of view the steps up to the cabin were steep and a few grab rails in the bathroom would help not that anything dampened our delight. In spite of the weather we had great fun exploring familiar places. Richard and Helen and the dogs made us feel very welcome and looked after us very well. We look forward to returning in the near future and we are spreading the good news of Alpine Grove to all our doggie owning friends. Thank you so much for such a brilliant time.

6 time veterans

Well where do i start? Bad Points - Only the weather, got alot of rain. Good Points - Great welcome from Richard Helen Murphy and Fredy. The Log cabin we stayed in, Roe Deer, was as usual everything we needed, and the site was great as usual. We went this time with my inlaws and booked both cabins. All in all a great stay. We are going back next year for stay number 7. Give it a go.

Fantastic Break!

The log cabin is beautifully finished, and very comfortable. Set in a secluded forest it provided the perfect family break and was excellent for our two dogs. We Will definitely be returning to explore the area further as there is just so much to see and do!

A Great Honeymoon Break

We stayed in the new log cabin from Mon 28th April 08 - Fri 2nd April 08. We only come from 18 miles down the road in Yeovil, but it was completely worth it. Richard and Helen were so welcoming, along with there two dogs Murphy and Freddy. Freddy would come up to the cabin everyday to say hello and get a fuss off of us. And what can I say about the log cabin? Well I only have one word to describe it. And that is perfect. It was so peacefull and secluded. We would love to come back to alpine grove and next time bring our children with us. Thankyou Richard and Helen and family for such a great break.

A Great Weekend Away

Just finished another wonderful long weekend away at Alpine Grove Log Cabins. The cabins themselves are very spacious yet offer an authentic log fire to enjoy on nights in. This is our second time at the cabins and nearby are horse riding lessons that are fantstic for first time riders like me! Richard and his furry friend were very friendly and always makes us welcome! Hear is to the next time!

Green Wonderland

We spent 3 most wonderful days (celebrating my Birthday!) at Alpine Grove this weekend enjoying fresh country air. We were really impressed by the cabin; it was big enough for 5 people and had a cosy fireplace, which we all enjoyed in the evenings. We explored surrounding woodland inside out and found some pillboxes, which were fun to explore. Later on Richard told us a full story which would be his little secret for new visitors. :-) Our little doggy met 2 four-legged friends, Freddy and Murphy, and definitely did not want to jump in the car when we were leaving. Richard was very helpful and kindly provided us with a barbeque grill and everything we could think of. Many thanks for your kind welcoming and we will definitely come back to your green wonderland. A Wonderful Woodland Retreat

We have just returned home to Suffolk having spent a long weekend in Roe Deer Lodge at Alpine Grove with our two boys Finlay 8 and Max 9 years old. The enchanting Log cabin was set in a tranquil woodland setting and we found it to be very well furnished and equipped. Alpine Grove makes a perfect base for exploring the local attractions and the play area and trampoline were used daily by the boys. We would like to thank Richard and Helen for what was a very relaxing stay and look forward to returning at some time, perhaps in the summer months when the swimming pool is open. Very best wishes.

Absolute Heaven......................

We have just spent our Wedding Anniversary and Mothering Sunday in 'Roe Deer Lodge' one of the log cabins at Alpine Grove. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we could have wished for, it really was absolute heaven and was so relaxing. The setting was divine, and close to many great tourist spots. Our little girl loved the play area and trampoline. Richard was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We will most definitely be back,

Relaxing

Just got back from a fabulous weekend at the lodge. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time, it was nice getting away from the hussle and bussle of city life for a few days and hearing nothing but birds tweeting and leaves falling. A great experience just to lock yourself away for a few days as the winter months come closer. The pictures do this place no justice its really amazing you have to experience it first hand.

Relax Relax and again Relax

We have just got back from the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. This being our third stay at this beautifull park. The log cabin was fantastic and housed us (5) very comfortably. Everything we needed was there and more. We had lots of privacy too. Any one wanting a camping or caravan holiday must give this site a try (you won't be disapointed) and for those who like their creature comforts the cabins are definately for you. Richard and Helen are the perfect hosts and we are going back in October, we are also booking for Summer 2008. Cant wait to get back

Escape from the rat race

We have just got back from a most wonderful weekend stay in the log cabin and we were very impressed with the effort that Richard and Helen have put into it and the site as a whole. The rain was coming down hard but inside with the stove burning we felt a million miles away from the big city and all that stress. We will certainly recommend it and be back for more peace and tranquility.

Weekend Escape

An old friend and I meet up once a year to escape the rat-race and the log cabin at Alpine Grove was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Forton is ideally situated for the many local attractions and after a busy day out it was lovely to come back to the cabin and sit on the verandah watching the sunset and listening to the birds. We had everything we needed in the cabin and the site is beautiful. We must come back when the rhododendrons are in flower!

A great Autumn break

Travelling with a toddler can be stressful but Alpine Grove really was a stress free break. The additional mod cons of dishwasher and microwave were a god send and thoughtful gestures like electrical sockets and wood stove protected were a welcome relief. Nestled amongst the trees the cabin was tranquil and secluded. Sam loved wondering through the woods around the cabin and the trampoline in the children's play area was a great hit. We will definately be returing in the summer to try out the pool and explore the surrounding area further - there's too much to see in one long weekend. Thanks Richard, Helen and family for making us very welcome. We'll be back!
