Nestled into the South Coast Countryside in South Somerset, bordering both Devon & Dorset Counties is this unique rural log cabin retreat. This quiet, level oak woodland site is set in 8.5 acres of parkland naturally screened by rhododendrons amongst the mature oaks, beeches & birches.
A peaceful relaxing and fun holiday can be enjoyed at Alpine Grove Log Cabins. From the tranquil setting of your own log cabin, you can discover the unique charm of a holiday in beautiful woodland. Here the delights of the outdoor life are on your doorstep, discover the wealth of wildlife especially Rabbits, Pheasants, Buzzards, Woodpeckers and even Roe Deer (if you are quiet).
Spend the day as you choose, we have some lovely scenic circular walks starting from Alpine Grove.
Children are occupied with a play area and a giant trampoline complete with safety enclosure netting, plus the abundance of safe cycle and walking tracks within the park to explore and play safely. The woods are great for den building. Try and complete the scavenger trail and receive a prize.
We also have our own outdoor heated swimming pool (82 degrees F) which is positioned in a sun trap complimented with sun loungers.
There is a small on-site shop selling general provisions including local produce. We support our local farming community by selling their free range eggs, bacon, sausages and honey. Additionally we offer confectionary, drinks, ice cream, pocket money toys and postcards.
Our first Cabin completed in Summer/ Autumn 2006, Our second Cabin was completed for Spring/ Summer 2007. They are real solid round wood log cabins encircled by trees for your privacy yet open enough to let sunlight through. We aim to give you that cosy, romantic log cabin retreat experience with a solid wood burner, skylights over the beds for star gazing and a balcony for dining al-fresco.
Our fully equipped bespoke log cabin is exclusively designed for all your needs and is perfect for all year round short breaks or even a long holiday.
The lounge, kitchen and dining room are open plan and arranged with modern day living in mind.
The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob & electric fan oven, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave and all the crockery you will require.
The lounge has a colour lcd television with dvd player. The cast iron wood burner is your focal point creating that warm cosy atmosphere. A patio door leads to the balcony.
The Dining Area consists of table & chairs with a picture window to spot the resident wildlife and overlooking a private area serving the log cabin. A skylight is positioned over the table area which helps bring the woodland into the cabin.
The bathroom has a very generous sized modern shower cubicleand the cabin itself has wider doorways. The second cabin has a bath with curved shower within it.
There are two bedrooms at the rear of the cabin which are cosy and tastefully decorated. There is one double bedroom with plenty of room for a cot and a skylight over the bed. Plus a triple bedroom (bunk beds with a double bed as the base). The second bedroom in our latest cabin has 2 single beds arranged as a standard bunk bed with a single alongside creating 3 single beds, a twin bedded room or slid together to create. a double.
One cabin is Pet Friendly and both cabins operate a Non Smoking Policy.
